Father's Day was first observed on June 19, 1910 in Spokane Washington. President Calvin Coolidge supported the idea of a national Father's Day 1924. In 1966 President Lyndon Johnson signed a presidential proclamation declaring the 3rd Sunday of June as Father's Day.

The guy helped you get your first car, and paid for College. Father's Day is a chance to give the guy a real cool gift that he would never get himself. A few ideas:

In the dream gift category, The Discovery Store sells telescopes. They have a tutorial to help you find the right telescope for your budget and needs. The Discovery Store has a good selection of other science and discovery related products...such as robot lawn mowers and model dinosaurs.

The Back Country Store in Heber Utah has terrific products for the back country and skiing sort of dad. You can find high quality Denali Jackets, climbing or skiing gear. This online store was established by Olympic athletes and concentrates on supplying the highest quality back country gear on the market.

hd_fathersday_160x100_animatedA Harry and David fruit tower is another fine gift for dad. These baskets include the highest quality pears and ingredients. They time the shipping so that they are at the absolute peak of their flavor on June 16th. Order a Harry and David gift tower, and find out what fruit was meant to taste like.

Monthly Dynamic Promotion (120x60). You never have to change this code - we make sure the monthly promo is always fresh! To show dad that he raised someone who understands the value of a buck, you can't beat Overstock.com. This company buys overstocked merchandise and unsold goods, then dumps them on the internet for a fraction of their original price. This is my favorite gift buying store. They have a truly eceletic collection of goods from electronics and sports to gardening. If you are short on ideas, you will find your mind overflowing with ideas at Overstock.

If you want to help dad stay looking sharp (or if you want to take revenge on him for giving you clothes for Christmas when you really wanted that bike); you can't beat the Paul Fredrick's Mens Store. They have fine dress shirts, pants, ties. Simply copy the size from a shirt that fits well, and...voila...instant gift.
